EVERBUILD® B2 Gun Grade Fire Foam is a quick-setting one-part polyurethane foam with fire resistance properties. The foam expands on application 1.5 – 2 times its original volume. Once cured, the foam can be cut, sawn or plastered over after only one hour providing the working temperatures (can and surfaces) are between +5 °C to +25 °C, ideally 20 °C.

Everbuild B2 Gun Grade Fire Foam Aerosol 750ml

Everbuild B2 Gun Grade Fire Foam Aerosol 750ml is a quick-setting, one-part polyurethane expanding foam with fire-resistant properties. Developed for professional gun application, it provides greater control over the flow and positioning of the foam, making it suitable for accurately filling gaps, joints and cavities throughout a wide range of building and construction projects.

The foam is classified as a B2-grade product and is designed to slow the passage of flames and smoke when compared with standard B3-grade expanding foams. It can provide fire resistance for up to two hours in certain tested joint configurations in accordance with EN 1366-4. The achievable fire performance depends on the joint dimensions, construction materials and complete sealing system, so the relevant product documentation and specified installation method should always be checked before use.

Each 750ml can produces approximately 40 litres of expanded foam under suitable application conditions. This generous yield makes the product an economical solution for filling deep, wide or irregular gaps where conventional fillers may be difficult to apply. The expanding action allows the foam to reach into uneven spaces and form a firm, stable fill after curing.

Controlled Gun-Grade Application

Unlike a handheld expanding foam, this gun-grade formulation is designed to be attached to a compatible professional foam applicator gun. The gun gives the user improved control over the rate of application, helping to place the foam accurately and reduce unnecessary waste. Flow can be stopped and restarted as required, making the product particularly useful for repeated tasks or projects involving numerous joints and openings.

The controlled application is valuable when working around window frames, door frames, thresholds and other areas where excessive expansion could cause mess or apply unwanted pressure. The foam expands approximately 1.5 to two times its initially applied volume, allowing the user to fill the joint gradually without completely filling the available space with wet foam.

Suitable Applications

Everbuild B2 Gun Grade Fire Foam can be used for a broad selection of filling, fixing and insulating work. Typical applications include filling gaps around window and door frames, filling deep joints before the application of plaster or sealant and closing irregular gaps in brickwork, stone, concrete or plaster.

The cured foam can also assist with fixing door frames, window frames, windowsills, thresholds and timber structures. Its insulation and sound-deadening properties make it useful for filling voids behind external wall cladding, soffits and bargeboards where a stable expanding material is required.

When the foam forms part of a specified fire-resistant joint, the manufacturer recommends using it with Everbuild Fire Mate Intumescent Sealant to obtain the maximum available fire rating. Fire-stopping work should always follow the applicable tested system, project specification and building regulations rather than relying on expanding foam alone.

Fast Setting and Easy to Finish

Once fully cured, the foam creates a firm material that can be trimmed and finished to suit the surrounding surface. At suitable working temperatures, it can be cut, sawn or plastered over after approximately one hour. This quick setting time helps building work progress efficiently and reduces the waiting period before finishing or decorating the area.

For the best results, both the aerosol can and the application surfaces should be between +5°C and +25°C, with approximately 20°C providing ideal working conditions. The surfaces should be stable and suitably prepared before the foam is applied. Users should follow the instructions supplied with the product, particularly when preparing fire-rated joints or working around frames that could be affected by expansion.

Uncured foam and application equipment can be cleaned with Everbuild Foam Cleaner. Once the material has hardened, it must be removed mechanically by cutting, scraping or sanding as appropriate. Protecting adjacent surfaces before starting can therefore make the application cleaner and easier to complete.

Insulating and Sound-Deadening Properties

In addition to filling awkward gaps, cured polyurethane foam provides useful thermal insulation and sound reduction. By filling open joints and cavities, it can help limit unwanted draughts, heat transfer and sound transmission around properly installed frames and building components. These properties make it a versatile product for new-build projects, refurbishment work and general property maintenance.

Although the foam provides useful insulating benefits, it should not be treated as a substitute for a complete approved insulation or acoustic system where a particular level of performance is required.
