C-Tec FC1 Superfast Superglue + Activator Trade Kit

C-Tec FC1 Superfast Superglue + Activator Trade Kit is a professional fast-bonding system designed for tradespeople, installers, joiners, maintenance teams and demanding DIY users. Combining a high-strength cyanoacrylate adhesive with a dedicated surface activator, this trade kit provides everything required to produce rapid, reliable bonds on an extensive range of porous and non-porous materials.

The kit contains a 100ml bottle of C-Tec Superfast Plus Adhesive and a 200ml aerosol can of Superfast Plus Activator. The larger trade-size containers make it an economical choice for workshops, construction sites and users who regularly complete repair, fitting and assembly tasks.

Superfast Plus Adhesive creates strong, colourless bonds between compatible close-fitting surfaces. The activator complements the adhesive by sealing porous materials such as wood, MDF, leather, brick and stone. Used together, the products allow fast bonding across a much broader range of materials than conventional superglue used alone.

What Is Included?

  • 1 x C-Tec Superfast Plus Adhesive – 100ml
  • 1 x C-Tec Superfast Plus Activator – 200ml

The adhesive and activator are designed to work as a coordinated system. The activator is not an adhesive and will not bond materials when used by itself. It prepares suitable surfaces and accelerates the curing action of the Superfast Plus Adhesive.

Fast, High-Strength Adhesive

C-Tec Superfast Plus is a one-component adhesive formulated primarily from ethyl cyanoacrylate. It begins bonding compatible materials in seconds and provides very high tensile strength. In many applications, its bonding action can create such a strong connection that the joined materials effectively behave as one component.

The adhesive is colourless, helping produce neat and discreet repairs. This makes it useful for visible joints, decorative mouldings, trims and finished components where a coloured adhesive line would be undesirable. It also requires no heating, soldering or mixing, making it quick and convenient to use on site or in the workshop.

Once properly cured, Superfast Plus provides resistance to oils, many solvents, benzene, atmospheric exposure and changing temperatures. The performance of any completed bond will depend on the materials, surface preparation, joint design and conditions of use.

Activator for Porous Materials

Porous materials can be challenging to bond with standard cyanoacrylate adhesives. Wood, MDF, leather, brick and stone may absorb liquid adhesive into their surface before a complete bond has time to develop. This can reduce the amount of adhesive remaining at the joint and lead to inconsistent results.

The included Superfast Plus Activator is designed to seal porous surfaces and accelerate the adhesive’s curing process. Applying the activator to the appropriate surface helps keep the adhesive concentrated around the joint, allowing it to produce a faster and more dependable connection.

The activator is also useful where an especially rapid initial bond is needed. Once sprayed, it should be allowed to evaporate for the period specified on the container, typically around 10 to 60 seconds depending on the surface and working conditions. The Superfast Plus Adhesive can then be applied and the components brought together.

Suitable Materials and Uses

C-Tec Superfast Plus can bond a wide selection of compatible materials, including wood, MDF, leather, stone, brick, metal, glass, rubber, ceramic and many rigid plastics. Examples include aluminium, stainless steel, steel, chrome, natural rubber, nitrile rubber, neoprene, nylon, polycarbonate, polystyrene, porcelain and hard PVC.

Typical applications can include:

  • Attaching skirting, architrave and decorative mouldings
  • Joining mitred corners and finishing trims
  • Bonding wooden and MDF components
  • Repairing suitable plastic, rubber or metal items
  • Attaching signs, profiles and small fittings
  • Completing joinery and cabinet installation work
  • Repairing stone, ceramic and decorative components
  • General workshop, maintenance and assembly tasks

The system is generally best suited to small, closely fitting joints. It is not designed to fill large gaps or replace a flexible construction adhesive where substantial movement, vibration or repeated impact is expected.

Surface Preparation

Correct surface preparation is essential. Both bonding surfaces should be clean, dry, stable and free from dust, oil, grease, loose material and other contamination. Remove weak or crumbling material and use a suitable cleaning method for the surfaces being joined.

Complete a dry fit before applying either product. Make sure the components align correctly and meet closely. Because the adhesive begins bonding extremely quickly, there may be little opportunity to reposition the parts once contact is made.

Where the appearance or compatibility of a material is uncertain, test both products on an inconspicuous area. Some plastics, coatings and decorative surfaces may become marked, discoloured or damaged.

How to Use the Trade Kit

  1. Ensure the work area is clean and well ventilated.
  2. Remove dust, grease, oil and loose material from both surfaces.
  3. Complete a dry fit and confirm the final alignment.
  4. If bonding a porous material, spray the activator onto the appropriate surface.
  5. Allow the activator to evaporate for approximately 10 to 60 seconds or as directed on the packaging.
  6. Apply a small, controlled amount of Superfast Plus Adhesive to the opposite surface.
  7. Bring the components together immediately and align them accurately.
  8. Hold the joint firmly until the initial bond has formed.
  9. Allow sufficient curing time before loading or disturbing the repair.
  10. Close both containers securely after use.

Apply the adhesive sparingly. A thin layer is normally more effective than excessive application. Using too much can cause the product to spread outside the joint, leave visible residue and potentially delay curing.

Important Compatibility Information

Superfast Plus should not be used on polyethylene, polypropylene or fluorine-containing plastics unless the manufacturer has specifically confirmed compatibility. These low-surface-energy plastics are difficult to bond with conventional cyanoacrylate adhesive.

The system should not be relied upon for structural, safety-critical, medical or direct food-contact applications without appropriate technical approval. It is also unsuitable for flexible joints or large gaps. Always follow the current technical information supplied with the products.

Safe Handling and Storage

Cyanoacrylate adhesive bonds skin and eyes in seconds. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing, wear suitable eye protection and use the products in a well-ventilated area. Keep both containers out of the reach of children.

The aerosol activator is highly flammable. Keep it away from heat, sparks, hot surfaces, naked flames and other ignition sources. Do not smoke during use, pierce the aerosol or expose it to direct sunlight and temperatures above 50°C.

Store both products upright in a cool, dry and ventilated area, following the instructions on their packaging. Always consult the current product labels and safety data sheets before use.
