Description
The Wienerberger Blue Engineering Perforated Brick in 73 mm height is an extruded, wire-cut unit engineered to meet BS EN 771-1:2011 Class B standards. Measuring 215 × 102.5 × 73 mm, it offers tight dimensional tolerances (T2 size, R1 range) that result in exceptionally uniform mortar joints and minimal cutting on-site. With a compressive strength of at least 75 N/mm² and water absorption below 7 percent, these bricks deliver outstanding durability and resistance to freeze-thaw cycles, moisture ingress and chemical attack—making them ideal for demanding civil and structural applications such as foundations, retaining walls, culverts or damp-proof courses.
The distinctive blue hue is achieved by firing Etruria marl clay in a reducing atmosphere, producing a smooth, semi-vitreous surface that stands up to visible exposure without staining or efflorescence. Perforations through the body reduce overall weight, improve thermal insulation and enhance mortar keying, speeding up laying rates and reducing mortar usage.
