Hyload Trade DPC 20m Roll
Hyload Trade DPC 20m Roll is a durable and flexible polymeric damp-proof course designed to protect buildings against moisture passing through masonry walls. Suitable for solid and cavity wall construction, it can be installed horizontally, vertically or as a stepped damp-proof course. It can also be formed on site to create cavity trays that help prevent the downward movement of water within a wall.
Manufactured by IKO as part of the established Hyload DPC system, Hyload Trade DPC offers reliable performance for new builds, extensions, renovations and general masonry projects. Its robust construction provides good resistance to impact damage and performs effectively under normal compressive loads.
Each roll is 20 metres long and is available from Buildland in a choice of widths to suit different wall constructions and installation requirements.

Selecting the correct width is essential for achieving suitable coverage across the masonry and allowing the DPC to be installed in accordance with the building design. Always check the project drawings, specification and relevant installation guidance before choosing a roll width.
Prevents moisture from passing through walls
Moisture from the ground can travel through porous masonry by capillary action. Without an effective damp-proof course, this moisture may move into the building fabric and contribute to damp patches, damaged plaster, peeling finishes and deterioration of internal decorations.
Hyload Trade DPC creates a continuous moisture-resistant barrier within the wall. When correctly specified and installed, it helps stop moisture rising from the ground and passing beyond the damp-proof course.
The product can also be used at higher levels in a building where a moisture barrier is required, including around openings and construction details where water must be directed safely towards the exterior.
Suitable for cavity tray applications
In addition to conventional damp-proof coursing, Hyload Trade DPC is suitable for forming cavity trays on site. A cavity tray is positioned within a cavity wall to intercept moisture and direct it towards the outside of the building.
Cavity trays may be required above windows, doors, roof abutments and other areas where water could otherwise travel down the cavity and enter the internal wall. The flexible polymeric material can be shaped to suit horizontal, vertical and stepped details when installed as part of an appropriately designed system.
Correct detailing is essential when forming cavity trays. Suitable stop ends, joints, laps and weep vents should be incorporated where required by the building design.
Robust polymeric construction
Hyload Trade DPC is manufactured from black polymeric sheet material with a grained finish on both sides. It has a nominal thickness of 0.9mm and is designed to resist impact damage under normal working conditions.
The material also performs well under compressive loads and does not extrude under load when used in normal working conditions. This makes it suitable for installation within masonry joints where it will be subjected to the weight of the wall above.
Its flexibility helps the material accommodate different wall details while making the rolls easier to handle, position and form on site.

The DPC should always be used as part of a properly designed moisture-management system. The correct position, width and installation method will depend on the wall construction and project requirements.
Installation guidance
Ensure the supporting masonry is clean, stable and free from sharp projections that could damage the material. Lay the DPC on a continuous, even bed of fresh mortar without folds, punctures or gaps.
The material should project through the full required width of the construction and must remain continuous around corners and changes in direction. Joints and laps should be correctly formed and taped using compatible system components where required.
Avoid unnecessary perforations. If damage occurs during installation, the affected area should be repaired or replaced in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidance before further construction continues.
The DPC must not bridge the cavity in a way that directs external moisture towards the inner leaf. When it is used as a cavity tray, the material should be formed with the correct falls and supported to direct collected water towards suitable weep openings.
